On April 25, 2015 Nepal suffered the effects of an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 that killed more than 7,000 people and widespread damage. In addition, the lack of resources resulted in a humanitarian crisis of even greater consequences as a quarter of the population (9.5 million people) needed assistance. The earthquake caused the displacement of more than 2 million Nepalese and over 1 million and a half needed help to get food during the weeks after quake
